Good fishing spots on the north shore of Long Island?

I live on the north shore of Long Island in a town called big neck. I wonder if anyone may suggest a place of good fishing on the north coast. I take a striped bass or bluefish. One might suggest also What is the best bait or lure to use. I use a diamond template on a stick and a hook with a weight on the other. I use ushally bunker but this has not worked so far.

Fishing off the beaches near you. They will produce fish. Ask someone to your local Tackle Store and given information and resources they need. But if you can not do those things that fish from the beaches in your area.
