Fishing for rainbow trout!?

I have not fished in a while, and my father has not caught a fish in the year (though often passed over in silence). Was very skeptical when I proposed to bait instead of lures he uses in general. We live near a river with several shallow coves ramifications beyond. Today Eddie tried to fish in the back, between 7 pm-9: 30pm and not receive as much as a bite (although I have fought some weeds solid 5 minutes thinking is a little fish lol). Eddie in the back of my father had to travel and have been using the following Rig: float connected 6 feet above a sinker, and hook a small 1 foot below cane. I tried to use both the orange and the lure of green power to cover the hook. I saw about 30 fish jumping out of water while we were there, we only insults. That we doing wrong? Comments? Try using lures to bait that works for Kamloops me.Something as a spoon or lure seems to attract crocodiles trout.Also try fishing in deeper waters as fish go further in hot weather, as the upper up.The hot water the warmer, less oxygen dissolved species are fish.Trout pilots good and may have been behind some errors Ty flight lunch.Also a leader in its line and move probe slightly above the fish do not see any chance eh it.good and good fishing.
